After America, the Lefkovich family soon became sad at home

Following the Palm Springs International Film Festival in California, the New York Jewish Film Festival and the Miami Jewish Film Festival screened Adam Breyer's The Lefkovices Mourning to sold-out audiences.

The work will finally be shown in local cinemas starting February 22, distributed by Mozinet. The theatrical trailer for the drama has now arrived.

The Lefkovich family is in mourning

In Adam Breyer's feature film debut, the relationship between Tamas Lefković, a big-hearted but stubborn boxing coach (Zoltan Bežeredi), and his son Ivan (Tamas Szabo-Kimmel) has deteriorated so much that they haven't spoken to each other in years. Ivan fled to Israel after the conflict with his father. He lives there as an Orthodox Jew and raised a family, communicating only with his mother (Agnes Maher) from Budapest.

When his mother dies unexpectedly, Evan returns home with his six-year-old son (Leo Gagel) to spend a week of mourning and shiva at his parents' house, in accordance with Jewish tradition. Through the two men, two worlds are strained against each other, and their lot is to reunite the family.

The film was supported by the Film Institute's Incubator Programme, produced by ULab and co-produced by Proton Cinema. Briar Adam co-wrote the screenplay with co-writer Balint Csaba, and the cinematography was directed by Zoltan Déveni, Miklós Kazmir, and Adam Velszegy. It is produced by Andrea Oztrix, and Claudia Sumiji is executive producer.
