I wish | AMD's new Ryzen generation may have this in store

AMD's AM5 socket and Ryzen 7000 series were released in September 2022. It's slowly coming time for the new generation to debut.

01.28.2024 – AMD launched the current generation of Ryzen processors in September 2022. Units built on Zen 4 cores contain many novelties, but their design has also clearly changed. While in previous AMD processors we can find the pins on the CPU (PGA design), the Ryzen 7000 has actually switched to an LGA design similar to Intel. Not only does this mean more pins can be installed, but the power supply options have also been expanded. Of course, there have been changes under the hood as well, with AMD engineers enhancing the previous architecture on several levels.

Then, in 2023, the 3D V-Cache versions arrived. AMD has installed additional cache on these processors, which leads to a pleasant increase in FPS in most games. It's no coincidence that the pair of Ryzen 7 7800X3D and Ryzen 9 7950X3D are considered the best gaming processors to this day, despite being chased by Intel's 20-core monsters with a 6GHz clock speed. However, the development does not stop, Intel is already in full swing for the 15th generation that will arrive at the end of the year, but it seems that AMD is not resting either.

We know more and more about AMD Ryzen 9000 processors

Previous leakers once again revealed valuable information about upcoming AMD processors:

  • It will be called Ryzen 9000, and the APUs may remain numbered 8000
  • They arrive in the AM5 socket, but that was to be expected
  • The IPC increase is double digits, meaning modules can be at least 10% faster even with the same clock signals
  • DDR5-6400 support does not cause problems either, currently 6000 is the golden mean

Users can expect a release between April and June, so AMD will be ahead of Intel. You don't have to wait long to get your hands on the X3D processors either, as there's a good chance they'll arrive before Arrow Lake, the 15th generation. Until the official announcement, it is of course useful to treat rumors with the appropriate weight, but in recent years, mistakes have rarely been made. Dropouts.
