Rain is forecast for the F1 Canadian Grand Prix weekend

After Monaco and Spain, changing weather could also play a role in the development of the race weekend in Canada.

This weekend, across the ocean, in Canada, the battle for the Formula 1 World Championship continues. According to the forecast, it will be like the previous two Grand Prix weekends with changeable weather.

After rain left its mark on the race track in Monaco and on Saturday in Spain in one form or another, there is now the possibility that the downpour could cause confusion at the circuit named after Gilles Villeneuve – especially during Saturday's qualifying session.

The situation already promises to be uncertain on Friday, in the time period of the second free practice that starts at 5:00 PM local time (11:00 PM Hungarian time) there is a high chance of heavy rain, which will not affect the field. Preparation is easier.

The situation is expected to be worse on Saturday, when the largest amount of rain is expected. Some forecasts indicate an 80% chance of rain during FP3 (12:00 local time) and/or qualifying (4:00 p.m. local time).

Rain also made qualifying interesting a year ago: so, for example, it was necessary for Fernando Alonso to take second place on the Alpine start.

The scenario may develop similarly this year, as Sunday's race is expected to be dry, just as was the case last year. Rainfall is expected on that day with a low probability, around 40%, while the air temperature rises to 20-23 degrees.
