Although Samsung has already been providing support for its latest devices for 7 years, this does not apply to previous models, so there are many popular phones and tablets that have been discontinued or retired much earlier. At the beginning of this year, support also ended for some Galaxy devices, meaning no further updates are expected for them. Let's see what they are!
Samsung maintains an official list of supported models, including how often each device receives a security update (e.g., monthly, quarterly, or semi-annually). This list has recently been updated, and unfortunately some devices have been removed from it, which means there are no plans to update it anymore.
Among other things, Galaxy A01 And the Galaxy Tab S6 Support, but perhaps most Galaxy A51 affected, which was also deleted from the list. Although in the latter case it is only the 4G version, the 5G model may still receive fix packages for a while.
By the way, the Galaxy A01 debuted with Android 10, and since it is an entry-level model, it received only one major update, Android 11, and then mostly just security fixes. The Tab S6 was already a high-end device when it was released, so it was updated from the original Android 9.0 all the way to Android 12. The Galaxy A51 was the first Samsung device to release with Android 10, and ended its run with Android 13.
