Will Zombies stop updating soon?

According to a reliable leaker, despite the popularity of Zombies mode, its content expansion will soon stop in the latest Call of Duty game.

Treyarch's game will be a disappointment if the rumors are true: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III's Zombies mode is reportedly not getting additional enemies and perks, despite the game's release in November. You may remember that it was cited as one of the most ambitious zombie experiences in the series. A PvE-focused open world game mode where up to 24 players can battle against the undead. It has a deeper story that stems from the consequences of Viktor Zakhaev's actions. Initially, reception was excellent, but there were those who thought some changes to improve quality and additional content would be beneficial.

On Twitter, MRDalekJD wrote that Treyarch confirmed during the Season 2 creator conference call that there are no plans for any content updates. There will be no new enemies or new perks in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III's Zombies mode! Thus, Treyarch leaves the zombies alone after three months, which seems a completely incomprehensible decision. If it was a game that came out more than a year ago, they would accept it, but not like this.

The second season of the game was recently published, and with it the zombie mode was also expanded, but it will probably be expanded again, for the last time, because at the beginning of the season there were no additional story missions and Dark Aether. The rift, some new blueprints, and a new warlord. So these could be the latest innovations. With the arrival of the season, new levels, modes, weapons and some characters from AMC's The Walking Dead have also arrived in the form of operators.

As a result, stopping content updates quickly hurts the game-as-a-service (GaaS) approach. If the goal is for players to play something repeatedly, and that game is a live service model, then content expansion is a must. If you don't have the product, the audience will leave the product alone in no time!
