The number of scholarships available has increased as part of a commitment to providing affordable access to junior golfers
Golf Canada is pleased to announce that the Canadian Youth Financial Assistance Program will increase the number of scholarships available for the 2024 season. Expansion of the program will reduce the financial burden of participating in tournaments across Canada for more eligible players and their families.
Launched in 2022, the Canadian Junior Financial Assistance Program supports junior golfers and their families by providing need-based financial aid to help offset expenses associated with travel and competing in National Golf Championships and NextGen Championships. The program is funded by Golf Canada in partnership with the Canadian Senior Golf Association and the Gary Cowan Heritage Fund.
The amount of money and number of grants available for the Canada Junior Financial Assistance Program has increased in two years – growth that reflects a broader commitment to providing more affordable access to competitions for junior golfers.
“We are pleased to announce that the Canada Junior Financial Assistance Program has increased for 2024 allowing us to accommodate more junior golfers and help lower their costs,” said Kevin Blue, Chief Sport Officer at Golf Canada. “We would like to thank our generous donors who care about the affordability of junior golf for their continued support of this program.”
Full details of the maximum number of scholarships to be awarded along with the criteria by which eligible participants can apply for financial assistance can be found on the website golfcanada.ca/financial-assistance-program/.
