Samsung has finally released the first update for the top new models since their release, which not only improves the cameras a lot, but also resolves complaints about the display.
The installation package of the new software is about 550 MB, and according to the news, it was first released in South Korea, but it will definitely be available in Europe in the coming days and weeks. The update includes the February security package, but there are also more important innovations.
We previously reported that some users didn't find the Galaxy S24's display vivid enough even with Vivid color mode, because Samsung calibrated that option to a more natural image of previous models. However, after installing the new software, the Vibrance slider will appear in the advanced display settings, so everyone can customize the colors to their liking.
There were also complaints and initial issues with the cameras, which Samsung tried to address as well. Below is the list of innovations, some of which only got to the Ultra, while others apply to all three Galaxy S24 models.
- Image quality is improved by adjusting brightness when shooting in high pixel mode versus backlighting.
- Improve text clarity when using high magnification. (Galaxy S24 Ultra only)
- Improve clarity and image quality when recording background videos. (Galaxy S24 Ultra only)
- In Photo mode preview, the brightness of dark areas indoors has increased and the sharpness of subjects has been uniformly improved. (Galaxy S24 Ultra only)
- Expression is improved through the additional use of color data in food mode.
- We improved colors by adjusting saturation and white balance in Night mode.
- Image quality is improved when enlarging the gallery after creating a new DNG format in Expert RAW.
- The expressive power of fast-moving objects in backlight and portrait mode is improved. (Galaxy S24 Ultra only)
- The exposure and color expression of objects (people, flowers, etc.) in portrait mode are improved. (Galaxy S24 Ultra only)
- The “Screen Mode” option in the Display Settings has been supplemented with a “Sharpen” option, so you can enjoy more vibrant colors.
