Second place in the statistics competition

The Central Statistical Office has also announced a national statistics team competition for secondary schools called STAT WARS for this academic year. The first competition was held in 2014, and this year is already the tenth competition of its kind. The competition promotes statistical culture through many experiments and develops students' basic statistical knowledge and thinking.

The group competition was entitled Our Past and Our Future. Regarding the past, the focus was on issues related to historical racing adventures and anniversaries, while the future focused on environmental awareness and sustainability.

The Grammar School and the Arts High School of the Pápai Református Collegium also joined the competition. The first online round was followed by the second round on February 20, which was organized by live connection (camera and microphone), with the participation of teams from the North and South Transdanubia region.

In the North Transdanubian region, a prestigious second place was achieved by a rustic team. The team members were Hajnal Kiss, Lila Toth, Matthias Takats, Balazs V Szabo, 10th grade students. Their middle school teacher is Rika Nagi.
