According to the mayor of Sepsiszentgyörgy, Antal Árpád, Székelyföld was and will be autonomous, and Romanian Prime Minister Marcel Ciulacu made a mistake when he expressed messages denying the existence of Székelyföld and ruling out autonomy from the beginning during his visit to Maros, Harjeta and Covačna counties last weekend, MTI reported.
The Chairman of the National Council of the Romanian-Hungarian Democratic Union (RDMSZ) noted at a press conference on Monday that “the Prime Minister’s statements regarding the elections will not achieve their goal, because voters exposed to anti-Hungarian rhetoric will never choose the ‘version’, but the ‘original’, that is, they do not vote.” In favor of the Social Democratic Party, but in favor of the Association for the Unification of Romanians (AUR), which other parliamentary parties classify as extremist, or “SOS Romania”.
Arpad Antal, quoted by the news portal Maszol.ro, stated that the Prime Minister failed to increase the confidence index of the government during his visit to Sekkelevöld and that he “spoke nonsense or his words were born of ignorance” when he said “Sekkelevöld does not exist” and “Arpad Antal said: Sikelevold was not self-governing and will not be self-governing.”

He pointed out: It is possible to win the elections by insulting, but the person loses the trust of the insulted national community. According to him, Marcel Ciulacu is another Romanian politician who has proven that the Hungarian community in Transylvania cannot rely on him. “I know that many people vote for RMDSZ with a heavy heart, but this is another moment that proves that only RMDSZ can represent Transylvanian Hungarians,” news portal Maszol.ro quoted the Sepsiszentgyörgy city manager as saying.
