At MWC 2024, in addition to Honor and Xiaomi, Lenovo also did not hesitate to create new products – here, for example, it presented the world's first laptop with a transparent display. We haven't found out what the benefits of this are yet, but it sure is a pretty cool device.
Like major manufacturers, Lenovo gave a presentation at MWC in Barcelona, which focused on new AI tools, software and infrastructure solutions, but also presented two proof-of-concept devices that reinterpret the traditional PC and smartphone design world.
According to the manufacturer, Lenovo's latest POC product, the transparent-screen Lenovo ThinkBook, revolutionizes the interaction and creativity experience. The uniqueness of the device is provided by the 17.3-inch borderless Micro-LED display, which is completely transparent when turned off – with its seemingly floating base, the laptop also creates the impression of a stylish high-tech device, thus enhancing the user experience.
However, the genius of the laptop lies in the merging of virtual and real elements.
Through the power of Artificial Intelligence Generated Content (AIGC), the transparent display opens new horizons for collaboration and efficiency by enabling interaction with physical objects and the overlay of digital information to create unique user-generated content. In addition to all this, users can easily turn the device into a stylus-powered drawing tablet, taking creativity and efficiency to a new level.
It's not yet known when the device will be on store shelves — or whether Lenovo will begin mass production at all — but it's certainly interesting to see Transparent Display technology back in laptops after TVs.
