Passengers of one of Indonesia's Batik Air's domestic flights between Kendari and Jakarta in January can consider themselves lucky enough to land. Because they flew for at least 28 minutes, with everyone literally falling asleep at the wheel: both the pilot and co-pilot slept for a short half hour at the same time.
a Interested in trade According to his article, a report by the Indonesian Traffic Safety Authority revealed that there was no one flying the plane for 28 minutes. According to the report, the captain indicated to the co-pilot that he was tired, so when the plane reached a flight altitude of 10 kilometers, he entrusted the plane to his co-pilot for approximately 45 minutes. When he woke up, he asked the co-pilot if he wanted to get some sleep, but when he said thank you, he was fine, the captain went back to sleep. About half an hour later, he woke up to find that the co-pilot was also asleep, and that the plane had deviated from its specified course.
Fortunately, we were able to direct the plane and land safely in the Indonesian capital. The 153 passengers on the flight probably didn't notice any of that. For air traffic controllers, who wondered why no one from the plane responded to them, the pilots said they experienced some sort of communications blackout. This is of course true, but when the controllers heard this, they probably did not think that the problem was that none of the pilots talked in their sleep.
