According to the foundation's announcement sent to MTI on Friday, the 2024 season of the large-scale, multi-year research program began on the first weekend of March with volunteers from the MNM NRI's Community Archeology Division, which also led to the discovery. From a populated site.
While excavating finds and sites using metal detectors, we found spears, arrowheads, and a distinctive level dating back to the time of the conquest.
Based on these results, it can be assumed that the studied area may also hide a cemetery from the time of the conquest, and the institute will launch further research to confirm this.
They added: Based on the evaluation of the finds, the area was inhabited from the Bronze Age to the Imperial Age during the period of conquest and also in the Middle Ages. According to their hopes, the excavations and agriculture of later eras did not completely destroy the memories hidden here, although it seems that mineral finds extracted from the plowed layer have been disturbed.
The project started two years ago
