The 2022 survival horror game will get a genre-changing spin-off. This time, the Striking Distance team is working on an action roguelike, currently called just Project Birddeye.
“We're excited to show what we've been working on. Since it's still in development, we'll refer to it among ourselves as the Birdseye Project. This is our approach to a fast-paced, action-packed roguelike experience in Black Iron Dungeon.” can be read in the video description.
“Last year, the pair began working on a passion project, which was born from roguelike games that are “easy to start and fun to master.” We love the world we've created for The Callisto Protocol and want to keep playing in it – and Black Iron Prison is the perfect future punk playground for the band's vision.
As you can see, this isn't a Callisto Protocol 2 game – think of it as a side quest that resonated with the team – but it does allow us to expand the world of Callisto Protocol and flex our creative muscles a bit by working on something different that would otherwise impact the development of our next trilogy game.“
There is no release date and platform yet, but the developers are specifically asking us for our opinion on the project – as will become clear at the end of the video.
