The newly discovered exoplanet, that is, a planet outside the solar system, is not much larger than Earth.
Researchers at NASA have discovered a new planet orbiting its star at an amazing speed of only 20 hours and 24 minutes. This means that a year on this planet lasts only 20 hours. The special planet has been named TOI-1347b.
According to experts, the planet's stellar system may be at least a billion years old, but up to 1.8 billion years old.

TOI-1347 b and its companion planet TOI-1347 c orbit a star slightly brighter and smaller than our Sun. However, it orbits closer to it than any other planet in our solar system. Planets similar to Jupiter are called hot planets.

According to calculations, almost every 200 stars could have such a planet.
They are usually dense and rocky, and their atmospheres (if they exist) are filled with ancient material from the star system.
According to estimates, the radius of the newly discovered planet is 1.8 times that of Earth, and its mass is 11 times. This also means that it is the largest ultra-short period (USP) planet with a radius less than twice that of Earth.

However, the most interesting thing about this planet is that its atmosphere is so dense that it blocks light, so it cannot reach the surface.
