Samsung recently started updating its previous devices to One UI 6.1, which, in addition to the Galaxy AI functionality, also brought several annoying bugs according to some owners. In addition to the fingerprint reader issues, a lot of people have complained about the touchscreen, but supposedly this isn't Samsung's fault, it's Google's fault.
After the update, many Galaxy S23 owners reported an issue where the screen does not respond well to touch, and after several attempts the desired effect can only be achieved. Samsung also responded to the bug, saying that Google's Discovery feed was the cause of the abnormal operation. If you're not familiar, it's the tab to the left of the home screen, and is usually home to various news and recommended articles.
According to Samsung, Google is already aware of the bug and is working on fixing it, but in the meantime, if someone is having issues, it's worth deleting Google app data in Settings, as this could be a solution:
- Settings -> Apps -> Google -> Storage -> Clear data
Important: After that, you may need to sign in again with your Google Account to use it.
By the way, there were other issues with the One UI 6.1 update, some people experienced less heat, others had limited charging speed due to the system, and there were also those whose fingerprint reader started malfunctioning. Hopefully a fix for these issues will arrive soon.
