The Ultra 1.0 version of the large-language Gemini model developed by Google will be released on OnePlus and Oppo smartphones later this year. All of this was announced at the Google Cloud Next 2024 conference.
There are different tiers of Gemini, the smallest of which is Nano, which can run directly on the device and will soon become part of the Pixel 8 toolbox. The Ultra version is the best equipped of all, but it runs on a cloud basis. By the way, the model also runs on the Gemini Advanced chatbot, and obviously if we want to use its capabilities, we will need access to the Internet. However, it might be worth it, because Ultra can interpret very complex tasks and contexts, so it can provide us with really useful answers.
In addition to the Gemini Ultra edition, OnePlus and Oppo phones will also receive various Google Cloud AI functions, although it is not yet clear what these are. It is also unknown how the Gemini Ultra software, which will soon be available on OnePlus and Oppo phones, will differ from the Gemini Advanced chatbot, which can be easily accessed via the browser. More details are likely to be revealed in the coming weeks, if not months.
By the way, OnePlus recently announced its own version of Magic Eraser, which it will make available on select devices in the not-too-distant future. This current announcement confirms that Oppo and OnePlus are trying to throw themselves into the world of artificial intelligence with full force. Of course, this is understandable, as artificial intelligence is currently the keyword for all the most important developments in the world of technology.
