World of Warcraft pre-registration records have been set and other statistics confirm that returning to China was a good decision.
Blizzard and Microsoft have every reason to be happy. The reason is their return to China. This means millions of dollars and a lot of players returning to Blizzard, as more of their games will be available in the Asian country as a result of the deal with NetEase. All of this was already decided when Microsoft acquired the company.

It's official: Blizzard is reaching out to China for its first and biggest win in 2024. However, a few hours ago we learned some facts. All of this confirms the absolute success achieved by Microsoft and Blizzard with their recent agreement. Most importantly, World of Warcraft gains over 2 million pre-registered subscribers in just 2 days! That's a staggering number of the most popular MMORPGs of all time.

All this also confirms that returning to China was a good decision. 92,021 accounts recovered. but this is not all. 146,990 accounts were reactivated, showing that users were able to regain all their progress. On the plus side, more than 1,000 resumes were sent out for new positions at a joint venture between Blizzard and NetEase, the company that distributes Blizzard games, due to China policy.
