In a Ubisoft game, ray tracing technology will be used aggressively to an unprecedented degree, and for this reason, the French publisher's plans to bring back Sam Fisher look exciting.
On Twitter, an insider known as Visceral wrote about Splinter Cell Remake, which Ubisoft announced a long time ago, but we're still waiting for its release. According to him, the game will have unique features, but the biggest innovation will be that our opponents will be able to recognize the player's whereabouts thanks to ray tracing reflections and sounds! So, not only can they see us by directly seeing where Sam Fisher is, but they can also determine the customer's location based on the reflections.
It will have some cool features like enemies being able to detect you based on ray traced reflections, ray traced sound, etc.👀 https://t.co/Xsyy67cd9u

If the rumor is true, Splinter Cell Remake could raise the bar much higher among stealth games, and it's a good time anyway, because there hasn't been much progress in this genre for a few years. We still don't know much about the game, but we do know something about its technology: it will use the Snowdrop engine, and following the example of the original game, we can expect a linear experience here as well. Beyond that, there are only question marks (and sometimes rumours).
Regarding Splinter Cell Remake, that doesn't mean we don't know when it will be released, nor even what platforms it will target. If it reaches the public in a year and a half, we will say that it will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC or, as we know Ubisoft, Amazon Luna. The French publisher will likely talk about this matter at Ubisoft Forward, which may reveal important information about the project at the beginning of June, despite the delay of E3.
If Ubisoft does start development in 2021 (their announcement came in December 2021 that Splinter Cell Remake would be made at Ubisoft Toronto), it should be ready for release this year, or perhaps next year, so Ubisoft should also be moving its gameplay forward. . .
