From the 2024/25 season, the course of the Champions League will change, and this also means an increase in the number of players, which will allow additional places for the tournaments. Given Italy's good performances in recent years, the fate of the first such posting position has already been decided, and Serie A will be able to award five teams to the Premier League starting next season. At the same time, there are still two other teams available, with the English, German and French leagues competing for them, the latter recently missing out on exactly one chance.
England will earn an additional Champions League place if:
– Aston Villa won all three matches, before penalties.
– Bayern/Dortmund/Leverkusen only got one additional draw, with the three clubs eliminated from the German First Division.
– Paris Saint-Germain/Marseille did not win at least one of their remaining matches. pic.twitter.com/xVeTVHd2h3

The Bundesliga is currently in the best position, and we also have three teams competing in the European Cup who have the most points for a position. The English are in second place, but only Aston Villa of the Premier League were interested, and they are also in the Premier League. This is the scenario that would allow for a new fifth place in the Premier League.
- Aston Villa won all three matches, meaning they tied the series and there would be no penalty shootout.
- The Bayern Munich/Dortmund/Leverkusen trio has a maximum of one draw and no team has been able to get past the semi-finals.
- Neither side of the PSG/Marseille double has won at least one more match.
It's an almost impossible 'mission', but at the moment the Premier League has the opportunity to secure another Champions League spot, so Unai Emery's side will be fighting for the honor of the entire tournament in the coming period.
