Netflix delves into the world of Formula 1 racing with the help of Reese Witherspoon.
Witherspoon's Hello Sunshine is producing a documentary series called F1 Academy, which will chronicle the women's-only developmental division of the racetrack. The series is currently in production and is scheduled to premiere in 2025.

“We started Hello Sunshine to change the narrative for women, and [managing director] “Susie Wolff and the Formula 1 Academy do this by creating new opportunities in the exciting world of motorsport,” Witherspoon said in a statement. “As these dynamic, courageous drivers break down barriers behind the wheel, we're excited to partner with Netflix to tell the stories of these powerful leaders. What we know is that when we put women at the center, people come to watch.”
Formula 1 established the Formula 1 Academy in late 2022 and ran its inaugural season last year. The goal is to develop young female drivers who can then move up the ranks of the sport. The program is headed by Wolff, a former professional driver.
