This week, Praktiker-Vác played two tournament matches again in women's handball NB I, on Wednesday as a guest of MTK Budapest, and on Saturday at home against NEKA.
The midweek encounter in the capital ended with the hosts winning 36-32 after the first half 19-17, with our city team managing to convert only one penalty kick out of six, which Gabor Herbert, head coach of Praktiker VAC, highlighted in his post-match assessment as well.
Master scale
Gabor Herbert: – Without diminishing the advantages of MTK, I am very disappointed. The result is encouraging for us, and it seems that we came unprepared. We're missing five seven-metre players, but with 32 goals scored, anyone but the top four domestic teams should be beaten.
On Saturday, the team and the fans were subjected to an even greater cold shower at home, because the guest NEKA came out on top, and the final score was 25 – 27. The result was also a great disappointment, because the visitors would not avoid relegation even with this win, so the lack of concentration in front of them was unjustified. .
At the same time, despite the two recent defeats, Praktiker-Vac finished the 2023/2024 NB I Women's Handball Championship season in a commendable fifth place, just after the top teams.
