He added: “The Pope never intended to offend anyone or use homophobic terms, and he apologizes to those who were offended by the use of the term as others have mentioned.” This was stated by the Director of the Holy See Press Room, Matteo Bruni, on Tuesday, in response to journalists' questions regarding the use of the term to admit LGBT people to the Theological School. “Pope Francis is aware of the recent articles related to his closed-door conversation with members of the Italian Conference of Bishops. As he has said many times: In the Church there is room for everyone, for everyone! No one is useless, no one is superfluous. There is a place for everyone, as we all are. The Pope never intended to offend or use homophobic terms, and he apologizes to those who were offended by the use of the term, as others have reported.”
