On 28 May, MEFS, TF and TFSE jointly organized the 2024 MEFOB Beach Handball Championship at the TF Sports Center in Venice, where more teams participated than in last year's competition. We were able to welcome 7 debutantes for ladies and 8 for gentlemen.
On the men's level, we arrived as champions, while on the women's level, we finished the tournament with a silver medal last year, so we were confident of winning a double medal this year as well. Both our teams reached the group stage with ease, and then advanced to the direct elimination stage of the competition as medal contenders.
Out of the top four, our girls beat the Peaks girls in a tough match, making it through to the finals, where they had to repeat the 2023 finals and face last year's champions KRE. The semi-final did not go well for our boys, so it became certain even before we qualified for the final that last year's gold medal would not fall to us again.
In the end, our women's team was defeated by KRE with a confident game, thus defending its title. Our men's team's opponent was BGE in the fight for third place, the match ended in a penalty shootout, and unfortunately, our team did not win the bronze medal.
