ARM has introduced the latest generation of CPU cores, which belong to the v9.2 architecture, and perhaps needless to say, their focus is on performing AI-related tasks.
The benefit of the new set's increased performance comes from optimization of the new 3nm architecture, which has also been implemented for TSMC's FinFET processes and Samsung's GAA processes. Convertible now Cortex-X925 Core replaces the previous Cortex-X4, and as you can see, a new name has been introduced, which can therefore remain in line with the names of other designs in the current ARM offering.
The new core promises 15% higher IPC performance – the number of instructions per cycle – and moving to a 3nm process and a higher clock rate of 3.6GHz means a 36% increase. AI performance is 46% higher compared to Cortex X4. Field users are said to feel this increase when they get their hands on the 2025 flagships.
the Cortex-A725 The mag combines energy saving and loading capacity. The novelty is 25% more efficient than the A720 core. The move to a 3nm process and larger L2 cache delivers higher performance with lower power consumption.
the new Cortex A520 It basically offers the same as the A510, but since this core has also switched to 3nm, the power consumption has also become more favorable.
The ARM v9.2 architecture and new processor cores are expected to be used in high-end chipsets from Samsung, MediaTek, and Qualcomm that will serve inside the top mobile phones to be introduced in 2025.
