A fire broke out in two ships, which have since been extinguished, and no injuries were reported.
So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack. The Yemeni Houthi militia, supported by Iran, has launched drones and missiles against international commercial ships in the Gulf of Aden countless times since mid-November last year. Since last November, Iranian-backed Shiite militias have regularly attacked the trade route through the southern entrance to the Red Sea. Due to the huge impact of this move on the global economy, the Western powers sent several warships to the region to take action against the twenty, but the problem has not been completely resolved yet. The rebel group began its actions in protest against the Israeli operation against Hamas.
Because of the attacks, the largest trading companies reduced shipping traffic on the sea route linking Asia and Europe, and instead bypassed Africa to deliver their shipments to their destination.
