Playground Games had a helping hand [VIDEO]

In the case of another Xbox project, we have known for some time that an external studio is helping the Microsoft team (this game will be discussed later in the news), so it is not surprising that this has been confirmed in connection with the reboot of the myth.

What does it mean to be a hero? On last year's show, Dave, the gardener-turned-giant, answered that question. This year we get a darker perspective from Humphrey, played by British comedian Matt King. Humphrey was once Albion's greatest hero, but those glory days are long gone. In Fable, Humphrey is forced into retirement when a mysterious figure from his past threatens Albion's existence. Playground Games has also confirmed its collaboration with Eidos Montréal, which will support the continued development of Fable.

Of course, here too, an external team helps the Microsoft studio, which we know mainly in relation to the Forza Horizon titles. Apparently it wasn't enough for Playground to open a second studio, because they also needed Eidos Montréal. We know them in relation to 2018's Shadow of the Tomb Raider, 2014's Thief reboot, or Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. In any case, the Playground-Eidos Montréal collaboration was already mentioned as a rumor in November 2022 by Bloomberg editor Jason Schreier… So a year and a half later, it was confirmed by Microsoft and even by Eidos Montréal on Twitter.

Playground Games and Eidos Montréal also revealed that Fable will not be released this year. Because we haven't heard much about the game, which was announced four years ago (in July 2020), but it was rumored as early as 2017 (!!!) that Microsoft was on the verge of doing something with the Fable IP. This was probably announced too soon, right?

Fable will be released sometime in 2025 for Xbox Series and PC. As with all internally developed first-party games, it will be available from release day via Xbox Game Pass.
