Netflix has stopped working on an adaptation of the Power Rangers series

Power Rangers fans have been eagerly awaiting news about the development of a live-action Netflix series, but unfortunately, the latest news hasn't been what they were hoping for. TV Line has confirmed that the live-action series has been shelved by the streaming service, and franchise owner Hasbro Entertainment is now looking for a new creative direction and partner for the show.

Jonathan Entwistle has overseen the series, while Jenny Klein has served as showrunner, but so far neither Entwistle, Klein, Netflix, or Hasbro have commented on the status of the series. According to Jinsakuu's original report, Hasbro wants to do something similar to what they did with the Power Rangers toys. Earlier this year, Hasbro announced that it had licensed the toys to Playmates, which will begin offering their products next year. According to the report, Hasbro wants to follow a similar path with its TV franchises, trying to stay as far from adaptation as possible while still having franchise revenue.

Gensaku tweeted that “Because of the lack of staff and all the administration and responsibilities that Hasbro had to take on. They are licensing Power Rangers toys and media to other companies. And as we saw with Playmate, who now have complete control of the toys, they are doing the same thing with the rights to the TV series. They are also trying Getting out of the way as much as possible and still having franchise revenue so maybe that could be good news??

Netflix has partnered with Hasbro several times over the past few years, and last year was no different power Rangers Not in the case of Power Rangers: Dino Fury And the Cosmic rage It was also a Netflix exclusive instead, while the 30th Anniversary Edition, Once and always also. At one point, there were bigger plans for the franchise, but nothing would come to fruition.
