Last weekend, the WUAP/AWPC European Powerlifting Championships were held in Nagyszombat. Weightlifter Komarom Sivert Ramon won the title of European Deadlift Champion and also received a special award. Ryšavý Tomáš, also from Komarom, won the bench press.
The Comorra Powerlifterz Komárno team was represented by three breaststroke competitors at the European Championships on Super Saturday. We learned from one of the club members, Ramon Sievert, that everything went well, everyone survived the race without injury, and finished in the best possible positions.
Ramon competed in the junior division and 125+ weight group on Friday. By pressing 200 kilograms, he was able to win the European Champion title (first place) as well as the absolute second place for juniors.
“To my great surprise, I also managed to win a special award: the greatest junior performance in the tournament,” he added.
In the Open age group and weight group -82.5, Rešafe Tomas started the competition about 10 kilograms lighter than usual, but with more motivation, winning the European Champion title (1st place) with a beautiful push of 195 kilograms, as well as an absolute third place in the Open.
Sandor Foros represented the team in the Masters age group and in the 125+ weight category, where he took the silver medal (2nd place) with a push of 220 kg after a hard fight.
Krisztián Piroska (strongman Komarno) began competing in the open age group and in the 125+ weight class, where he placed fourth with a push of 175kg, missing out on the podium by a hair.
Stefan Nagy (Power Club Zelený Háj) competed in the Masters age group and -125 weight group. In the difficult field, pressing 165 kilograms was enough for sixth place this time.
On Saturday, Zevert Ramon competed in the deadlift competitions in the junior category and in the 125+ weight category, and achieved the double with a wonderful result, to win the European Championship title again (first place). In addition, he also received the special award for best performance among juniors on Saturday.
