Samsung has introduced the new Galaxy Buds3 series, which come with new “blades” and many innovative functions.
Don’t call them “stems” — the new Samsung Galaxy Buds3 series have “blades.” You can press the blades to control playback and drag them up and down to adjust the volume. The new earbuds also come in a redesigned case and feature a range of AI features.
Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro
The Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro features two-way speakers with 6.1mm flat tweeters, 10.5mm dynamic drivers, and dual amplification. The SSC codec has been updated to support double the sampling rate for better audio quality. Of course, the Pro also has active noise cancellation, and its microphones constantly monitor the environment with functions like active noise shielding, siren detection, and voice recognition. The latter two automatically route ambient sounds so you can hear what’s going on around you.
Machine Learning and Call Handling
The machine learning model helps deal with noise coming from the other side during calls – this model is trained to create natural sound, even when the sound is coming from a noisy environment. Thanks to the ultra-wideband function, the Buds can transmit sound at 16 kHz, which is twice what regular Bluetooth headphones can do.
Special style and lighting
The Galaxy Buds3 Pro design is completed with exclusive Blade Lights. It’s a line of light that runs along the edge of the blade. You can customize the lighting pattern using the wearable app.
The Samsung Galaxy Buds3 are the more affordable option. They have unidirectional dynamic drivers (11mm) and also have Adaptive ANC and Adaptive EQ to adapt the sound to environmental factors. They also have an open design, which is more comfortable to wear for longer periods (but the Pro canal-type design offers greater passive noise isolation).
Case and battery redesign
The redesigned cases feature a transparent surface and the battery capacity is the same, 515mAh. However, the Pro earbuds have a slightly larger 53mAh battery in each earbud and can last up to 6 hours with ANC on and 26 hours total with the case (or up to 7 hours/30 hours with ANC off). In the case of the Buds3, each earbud has a 48mAh battery and promises 5 hours of continuous music playback, and up to 24 hours total with ANC on (or 6 hours/30 hours with ANC off).

Artificial Intelligence and Sustainability Jobs
Both the Vanilla and Pro Buds support Galaxy AI features, such as Interpreter Mode — the listening mode lets you listen to a lecture in a foreign language while your Galaxy phone and Buds translate into your native language. Samsung used computer-aided design for both buds to get a better and more comfortable fit. This time around, both Buds3 models have the same dust and water resistance — IP57 (higher than the Buds2 IPX2 and Buds2 Pro IPX7). However, this only applies to the earbuds, not the case. Incidentally, the Buds3 series is part of Samsung’s sustainability initiative and contains recycled plastic from fishing nets and discarded water barrels.
Pricing and Availability
The Buds3 series goes up for pre-order today and will be available starting July 24. They come in two colors, silver and white. The Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro will cost $250, while the vanilla Galaxy Buds3 will cost $180. By comparison, those prices are $30 higher than the Buds2 models.
