SM Entertainment's first boy band to debut in the UK, the five-member group was formed to conquer international markets including Europe and the United States. The group is a collaboration between SM, the North American subsidiary of Kakao Entertainment (Kakao Ent), and British entertainment company Moon&Back (M&B).
Moon&Back hand-picked the group members in the UK, while SM brought its K-pop expertise in music, choreography and vocals to life in the group.
SM and Kakao Ent plan to continue their multi-faceted collaboration by producing global local content and building networks with key partners around the world, thus accelerating their global strategy.
The journey of growth for SM Entertainment's first British boy band, which will debut in the second half of the year, will be broadcast on BBC One and BBC iPlayer this summer in a six-part TV series called 'Made in Korea: The K-Pop Experience.'
The TV series follows the training process and journey of the British Korean pop group, who spent 100 days in Seoul developing as musicians. It highlights the SM Artist Development Center, which is responsible for selection and training, and houses the world's best choreographers and composers.
“Creating a British boy band and taking them to the world stage after a unique K-pop training process is a world first and a show not to be missed,” said Nigel Hall, co-founder of Moon&Back Media.
