STEAM DECK NEWS – If you're playing a game on Valve's laptop that's not currently available on Steam (like Alan Wake 2, for example), it can be arranged so that you can play it from the rival PC store as well!
One of the programs, Deky Loader, will be the most important of all. With this solution, the Epic Games Store app will be constantly updated and will work fine, thanks to a GitHub developer named Moraroy. The test mode of the program should also be activated. Let's take a step-by-step look at how to make it work.
Press the Steam button, select Power, and then switch to desktop mode. You can use the keyboard on the Steam Deck screen (click the text box and press the Steam and X buttons together), or connect a mouse and keyboard to the device via Bluetooth. In the lower left corner, click Discovery Store, then download Google Chrome, as it is required for NonSteamLauncher apps to run in Steam Deck game mode. Open the Decky Loader GitHub page, scroll down to download, open the Downloads folder in Dolphin, and run the Deky Loader installer. After the recommended automatic installation (recommended installation), click the icon to return to launcher mode on the desktop home page.
Test Mode must be enabled in Deky Loader. To do this, press the QAM button located under the right touchpad of your Steam Deck, click the new Deky Loader add-on icon in the quick access menu, and then click Settings (the gear) in the menu. Change the Store Channel to Test under the General menu item. Close Settings, and then click the Store icon. Under Test Store, find and install NonSteamLauncher, and add the Epic Games Store app to your Steam Deck Game Mode library.
Press the QAM button, open Decky Loader, open the NonSteamLaunchers plugin, turn on Auto Scan Games, open the Game Launchers tab, and launch the Epic Games Store. Turn on the Separate Launcher Folders option, install it, and the app will be in the non-Steam directory. We will also find our games from the Epic Games Store in the same place. Press the Steam button, open our library, go to the non-Steam library with the R1 button, open the Epic Games Store app, press the power button to launch it, and everything will work after logging in.
It only takes a few minutes!
