In addition, Smith is also serving as a prosecutor against Trump in another lawsuit, in federal court in Washington, in a case to change the outcome of the 2020 election.

At the 77-year-old Trump's home in Florida, authorities found several boxes containing classified documents, which he was supposed to hand over to the archives at the end of his term.

Trump has always pleaded not guilty in the case.
