The work isn't done yet, but Netflix has something to say.
The fourth and penultimate season of Stranger Things ended in July 2022, so we've been waiting more than two years to learn about the horrors that continue to plague the town of Hawkins, as well as the men who accidentally found themselves in the middle of Hawkins' D&D campaign. And with season five, their story ends and there will be a sad farewell.
The video released today doesn't reveal any new details about those things, but we do know who else has joined the crew and what the Atlanta set looks like, where most of the scenes are being shot.
Three actors have been announced: Neil Fisher, Alex Brew, and Jake Connelly will also appear in the series.
Although filming has been ongoing since early 2024, there is still a lot to shoot, and post-production can only begin after that. For a few moments, we see Mike, Dustin, Lucas and Will, along with Joyce, Nancy, Jonathan and Steve working as a small team – except for Eleven. As we have long known, Jamie Campbell Bower will also appear as Vecna, and Linda Hamilton will appear as a new character who says she is a huge fan of the series.
The premiere is expected to take place in 2025, but we don't know anything more specific than that.
