The Redmi K70 Extreme Edition has become very powerful

At Xiaomi's large-scale presentation, not only the latest bendable smartphones were honored, but also a device with a more traditional design, the Redmi K70 Extreme Edition. This is the new flagship of the K70 series, which debuted at the end of 2023, with the Dimensity 9300+ chipset and up to 24GB of RAM.

The chipset's CPU won't be lacking in performance, with the Cortex-X4 cores capable of clocking up to 3.4GHz. The high-end MediaTek chipset is also supported by a dedicated graphics chip called the D1.

It's a 12nm display driver chip that enables triple-sampling at up to 1080p when displaying content at 144Hz. The chip is also said to be good for power consumption, which can be reduced by up to 15 percent when playing games.

The Redmi K70 Extreme Edition features a metal frame, and the front and back are coated with Longjing glass. The phone's outer shell meets IP68 certification requirements, meaning it is dust and water resistant.

The phone is equipped with a 6.67-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1220 pixels and a frequency of 144 Hz capable of a nominal brightness of 1600 nits and a peak brightness of 4000 nits. The normal touch sampling rate is 480 Hz, but the instantaneous sampling rate can reach 2160 Hz. The panel also supports PWM brightness control at a rate of 3840 Hz.

On the back of the device is a 50MP primary camera with a 1/1.56-inch Sony IMX906 sensor. The imaging system also includes an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 2MP macro camera. A 20MP selfie camera is placed on the front panel.

The Redmi K70 Extreme Edition is covered by a 5,500mAh battery that supports 120W fast charging. The incoming power is controlled by the Xiaomi Pengpai P2 chip, and a chip called G1 is aimed at maintaining the battery health.

The smartphone is sold in black, white and blue in 12/256, 12/512, 16/512 GB or 16 GB/1 TB storage packages. The cheapest package can be purchased for HUF 129,000 in local currency. There is also a Lamborghini Champion Edition of the phone, which gets 24 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage, and costs no more than HUF 197,000.

There's no news about an international release yet, but it's possible that the phone will reach us (perhaps under a different name).
