Indicator – Abroad – Donald Trump may be preparing for a large-scale attack

The Trump campaign is said to have already researched Kamala Harris and has similar documentation on other Democrats who could become candidates if Biden drops out of the race. But preparations so far have focused mostly on the vice president, including a recently completed poll that tested Harris’s vulnerability in the campaign, two sources told the newspaper. New York Times.

It's not just Harris they're watching.

The Trump team's focus on Harris is based on the assumption that if Democrats pass over their first African American woman, it will create deeper divisions within the party and risk alienating their African American base.

But the Trump team has also begun to look at the backgrounds of Democratic governors who are being considered as additional candidates. Trump advisers are paying particular attention to Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro. That’s the same state the Trump campaign wants to win most of all, thereby blocking the Democrats’ path to the White House. A Trump campaign spokesman did not respond to requests for comment.

Since Biden's disastrous debate performance on June 27, Trump's political contacts have toned down criticism of the president, hoping that Biden will survive politically until the Democratic Party formally nominates him, making it too late to replace him.

Trump's team wants Biden to stay in the race

His low approval ratings and widespread voter skepticism about his age and cognitive ability are seen as giving Trump a shot at reclaiming the White House. Additionally, Harris is seen as more able to deliver certain messages than Biden, particularly on abortion rights, which has been a sore point for Democrats in the 2022 midterm elections.

Right now, Joe Biden says he'll continue.

It is worth noting that US President Joe Biden announced, on Friday evening, local time, when he will continue his election campaign. The president later commented on Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump's speech on Thursday night at the Republican National Convention about X.

Joe Biden said in a statement Friday that he will return next week to continue his campaign and “fight against Donald Trump,” his Republican rival. The Democratic presidential candidate was recently diagnosed with the coronavirus and is currently recovering at his beach house in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.

“I look forward to continuing my campaign trail again next week and exposing the dangers of Donald Trump’s 2025 agenda,” the president wrote in a statement. “I stand for my own record and my vision for America: a democracy where we save democracy, protect our rights and freedoms, and create opportunity for all.”

Not long after, he appeared on Channel X to criticize Trump’s opening remarks at the Republican National Convention on Thursday night. Joe Biden said the former president was focused only on his grievances and had no plan “for how to unite the United States and make life better for working people.” He believed that “people saw last night the same Donald Trump they rejected four years ago.”
