They're boycotting Netflix because it supports its co-founder Kamala Harris.

Hastings donated to the Republican Accountability PAC, and supported Harris as the Democratic presidential candidate.

In a post on X on Tuesday, Hastings wrote:

Congratulations Kamala Harris, it's time to win.”

In response to Hastings' donation and Harris' support, many people took to social media to cancel their Netflix accounts.

We cancelled Netflix a long time ago, but if you haven't already, now is a good time to #CancelNetflix.”

One user wrote in a post.

Another user wrote: “I quit yesterday, as did most of my friends.”

One user canceled his streaming service specifically because of the donation, saying “most of America doesn't agree with this.”

Hastings and his wife, Patty Quillen, are said to be among the Democratic Party's biggest donors. The couple previously gave $1 million to Future Forward, an organization run by former Democratic Party staffer Chauncey McLean.

Future Forward previously spent tens of millions of dollars on anti-Trump advertising during the 2020 presidential race.
