The latest ranking of the best UK universities has been published by the Complete University Guide. We show what the 2025 list will look like.
Although UK universities have lost much of their popularity among European students due to the huge increase in tuition fees and living costs since Brexit, many people – including Hungarian students – still choose a UK university; by definition, well-performing institutions are at the forefront of the world.
the Complete University Guide Each year it compiles a ranking of the best universities in the UK, which assesses higher education institutions based on aspects such as entry requirements, student satisfaction, teacher-student ratio, the amount of money spent on research and upkeep of the institution and the opportunities available to early graduates.
Accordingly, the list of the top ten British universities was formed as follows:
- Cambridge University
- Oxford university
- London School of Economics and Political Science
- University of St Andrews
- Imperial College London
- Durham University

- UCL (University College London)
- University of Warwick
Interestingly, in the case of Cambridge and Oxford, which are in the top two, there is no data available for student satisfaction, however, the institutions, which are also considered among the best universities in the world, cannot be dislodged from the top of the lists in the latest ranking of the Center for World University Rankings, for example, only Harvard, MIT and Stanford universities are ahead of them.
