Iyuno, the post-production partner at the leak center, released a “security incident update” on its website on August 9, citing “unauthorized access to confidential materials” and confirming that measures are being taken to address the matter.
“Iono is aware of a recent security incident involving unauthorized access to confidential content. Protecting our customers’ privacy and ensuring the security of their content is our top priority. We are actively investigating the vulnerability to mitigate potential risks and identify those responsible. We will release further information as more information becomes available.”
While both Netflix and Iyuno have issued public statements, it remains unclear how successful they have been in managing the damage. Meanwhile, we can see more and more backlash on social media, with many animators expressing their frustration and feelings of disrespect. Some users are even calling on Netflix to release the leaked anime episodes earlier than planned to make up for the leak.
