The new Opel Movano sets standards with its new eight-speed gearbox.

The newly developed automatic transmission for the new Opel Movano versions with a diesel engine is one of the technical features of the latest generation of Movano.

Perfect combination: powerful turbocharged engines and a new eight-speed automatic transmission

The new Movano is available with an eight-speed automatic transmission with either the 103 kW (140 hp) or 132 kW (180 hp) 2.2-litre turbodiesel engine. Thanks to the new automatic transmission, the Movano’s extremely efficient fuel consumption is 8.2 litres per 100 kilometres.

High efficiency and resulting high fuel and CO2 consumption2 There are several reasons for the emissions savings. The new eight-speed automatic transmission has been specially designed to deliver high torque of up to 450 Nm from the 132 kW (180 hp) engine. Thanks to hydraulic control, shift times can be shortened, which has a positive impact on energy efficiency and driving comfort. In addition, improvements have been made to the Movano’s body, making the car more aerodynamic. All these measures have helped make the new Movano a leader in its class in terms of fuel efficiency and CO2 emissions.2 -In terms of emissions, even with diesel engines.

Wide range: turbodiesel, battery electric, and soon hydrogen

Opel offers commercial customers powertrains for every user profile – from the efficient turbodiesel with eight-speed automatic transmission (available in a variety of vehicle configurations and body styles) to the powerful Movano Electric. The latest generation of the battery-electric truck is equipped with the world’s first electric motor with 200 kW (272 hp) and 410 Nm of torque. Thanks to the new 110 kWh battery, the new Movano Electric can now travel up to 420 kilometres according to the WLTP 1 standard without stopping for charging, making it a reliable “workhorse” even on long journeys. It is the first Opel to be charged with direct current up to 150 kW. At a public fast-charging station, the battery can be charged to 80 percent of its capacity in just 55 minutes.

The large Opel LCV Movano will also be available as a hydrogen car for those who need to cover long distances locally without emissions and need to refuel quickly. The hydrogen fuel cell car has a range of around 500 kilometres and can be filled with hydrogen in around five minutes.
