Three years after the premiere of the first season, Squid Game (in Hungarian, the series is called Win Your Life, which is rarely used even among concurrent viewers) is back. The second season will be available to stream on December 26, and accordingly, Netflix has started uploading the first teasers, which reuse familiar motifs from the first season and give audiences a sly wink.
The first trailer is inspired by the Olympic Games, with athletes ready to start lining up on the 100-meter line on an athletics track. However, once the game starts, the famous Squid Game racers appear in green jumpsuits, and it soon becomes clear that they will once again face unusual challenges. At the end of the trailer, the eloquent question is posed:
It's been three years. Do you want to play again?
The final trailer can be seen at the end of our article, and it doesn’t reveal much more, except that the final season is expected to feature many bloody victims. The film takes place three years after the events of the first season, as Lee Jung-jae’s character Ji-hoon, who unwittingly won the game, seeks to end this deadly competition once and for all, but in order to do so, he must enter the game again.
The series is directed once again by Hwang Dong-hyuk, who made history with the first season when he became the first Asian director to win the Emmy for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series.
Squid Game season 3 won't premiere until 2025, but it's already known that it will be the last, while after the success of the first season, Netflix also produced a reality show based on the series, which not only The shoot was shrouded in scandal. But it also earned the hatred of its original creators, since Squid's bloody social critique was never meant to be realized in reality. Despite this, there is a sequel coming, because success is success.
