Bulgaria eased epidemiological restrictions on Thursday despite a record increase in the number of coronavirus infections in the country, MTI wrote.
On March 22, restaurants, theaters, cinemas, museums, gyms and sports facilities were closed again due to the rapid spread of the Coronavirus. On the other hand, restaurants can be welcomed again from Thursday, only on the terraces. Cultural institutions and sports facilities may operate up to a maximum of 30 percent of the hall. Visits to galleries, libraries and circus shows were again permitted, with epidemiological precautions, of course.
On Thursday, 4,207 more were reported injured. In the Balkan country, which has a population of 6.9 million, the number of new infections per 100,000 infections has risen to 732 in the past two weeks. The biggest epidemic was in the capital, Sofia.
Custdin Angelov On Thursday, the Minister of Health confirmed that the country is at the height of the third wave of the epidemic. He justified the opening on the pretext that hospitals are free to treat the injured. The minister added that he expected the vaccination campaign to accelerate as well. He said, 473,000 vaccine doses have been used so far.
On Tuesday, the minister announced the opening of nurseries and kindergartens from April 5, and the resumption of classes from 12. Large shopping malls will remain closed for the time being. Angelov added that until the end of April, mass events are prohibited indoors.
In Bulgaria, 342,633 infected people have been identified since the outbreak of the disease, of whom 13,197 died of the disease. The country is in a state of emergency until the end of April.
