Siolaco to boost economic cooperation with US

Romania wants to strengthen the strategic partnership with the United States through appropriate economic cooperation, and to have America as its main economic partner outside the eurozone, Marcel Ciolacu said on Wednesday during a meeting with representatives of the American-Romanian Business Council (AMRO).
Citing Agerpres, the prime minister noted that Romania offers many investment opportunities thanks to the European funds withdrawn and the reform targets needed to implement the Recovery Plan (PNRR) and join the OECD. Entrepreneurs can invest in many areas, he said, from the digitization of the public sector to services and energy production to infrastructure. Ciolacu explained that Romania has pledged to spend 2.5 percent of its GDP annually on equipment for the military, but the Romanian state is trying to focus on purchases that generate additional income for the local economy.
