The Department of Health in London has changed the restrictions, making home abortion pills available up to 10 weeks of pregnancy. The legislative change effectively added “home” as a legal place to have an abortion – Advertise Friday evening based on Christian Post, Hit Radio.
The law could remain in effect for up to two years, but the legislation will definitely remain in effect until the end of the coronavirus crisis. The regulation also states that an abortion can only be performed if the pregnant woman has previously contacted and agreed with an approved clinic or doctor via video call or phone.
The restrictions imposed so far have also allowed the woman concerned to take the first pill under medical supervision, in a hospital or abortion clinic, and the second only at home.
Christian rights group Christian Concern has accused the British government of making the biggest change to abortion laws since 1967.
Andrea Williams, the organization's president, said: “Our legal team has begun work on a request for a judicial review, and described the decision as a shameful step.”
