A woman was shocked after she saw a giant rat staring at her from her toilet.

Professional rat catcher Kieran Sampler, who was alerted to the incident, said:

The mouse crawled down the drain and into the toilet while a woman was using it. So we had to get it out, it was so bad – I've never had to get one out of a toilet before. The woman screamed.

The 30-year-old rat catcher, who claims to have killed more than 65,000 animals, added:

I had a client whose mouse was living in the slats of the bed – what I saw was crazy. There was also a place where a cat brought the mouse in at night and the family trapped it in the bedroom.

In 2018, Sampler created a Facebook page called Yorkshire Rat Pack, where he shared his work and supported other rat catchers. He then started his own company, called Vermicure Pest Control.

He avoids using traps that would keep rodents in cages, because he says they shock them.

Instead, Sampler, who lives in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, has trained two Lakeland terriers, Bobby and Penny, to find and kill rats in the most humane way possible. He said:

The rats are killed in seconds. In my opinion, this is much more humane than using poison. The rat extermination is also faster.

Sampler, who helps about a dozen clients a day, says that in recent months, more people have been encountering rats. He recommends that people regularly rake leaves in the yard and pick up dog poop to prevent rats from entering the property. He added:

Winter is vital for mice – they love leaves, so if you have a lot of leaves in your yard, I recommend cutting them up. Many people don’t pick up dog poop right away either, but they are drawn to it.

He also added that if they entered the property, there would likely be a sewer problem. Daily Mail.

Earlier, we also wrote about a giant aggressive rat attacking a man in the subway. The New York subway is one of the longest underground railways in the world. It is constantly crowded with people, which of course means a lot of garbage.

Wherever there is garbage, there are lots of rats. The animals have become more mischievous and less afraid of people.

In cities around the world, you can often see rats searching through garbage for food. There are more and more reports of giant, dog-sized rats invading New York.
