Twenty-five authors received the Publication Award and eighteen doctoral students received the Doctoral Award for Excellence in the University Hall of Debrecen. Alföld TV also attended the award ceremony:
The recognitions encouraging academic careers were established in 2023 by the Count Tessa István Foundation of the University of Debrecen; the Publication Prize and the Doctoral Scholarship for Excellence were awarded for the second time to the deserving recipients.
Forty-three scientific specialists were awarded, who contributed with their work to increasing the scientific reputation of the University of Debrecen, as well as achieving international success in research topics that can be considered unique in a particular field.
Twenty-five people received the Publication Prize, eighteen received the Doctoral Scholarship for Excellence, and over two hundred applications for the awards were received. In his speech at the award ceremony, György Kosa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Grove Tisza István Foundation at the University of Debrecen, emphasized that the awards serve to recognize exceptional talents, and that the achievements of the awardees simultaneously embody the three pillars of the University of Debrecen credo: hard work, dedication and a constant desire for development.
At the ceremony, László Czernoch, Academic Vice-President of the University of Debrecen, stressed that the institution's appreciation is primarily based on the quality of its teachers and students.
Peter Nagy, Chairman of the Scientific and Social Advisory Board of the Grove Tessa István Foundation at the University of Debrecen, also spoke with the winners. He spoke about how the scholarship programme rewards the work of the best scientists and future talents, as well as recognising the activities of the most exemplary professors.
Applicants for the István Gróf Tisza Foundation Excellence Doctoral Scholarship of the University of Debrecen are those who participate in the full-time State Scholarship Doctoral Programme at the University of Debrecen and who are not yet 30 years old, who have performed outstandingly in the first two semesters of the doctoral programme and who face a complex examination.
The Publication Award of the Gróf Tisza István Foundation of the University of Debrecen can be awarded to a lecturer or researcher from the University of Debrecen who has published the results of research work at the Foundation or other scientific works of national importance in an international journal with a high academic rating.
Winners of the Distinguished Doctoral Scholarship will have their stipend doubled, and winners of the Publication Prize will receive a total support of HUF 1.5 million after publication.
