Csaba Rescsik: 5th place in the Paralympics

Csaba Rescsik (SH1), 7th in air rifle, finished 6th in the 17-man R7 50m three-place event in the main competition with 1159 rounds, to qualify for the final.

Competitor Zumbo, who studies software design at the University of Szeged, took third place after 15 rounds from first place kneeling, then dropped to seventh place in the second stage in the prone position. He stayed in this position for the last 15 shots, the first two-thirds of the standing number, but in the last five shots he fired a round of more than 10 three times, so he could continue to fight among the top six for sixth place.

Then Rescsik showed the best shot in the entire field up to that point with 10.8 laps, so his fifth place was already assured. But in the next shot, he was no longer able to outpace his Danish opponent, so he finished fifth in his first Paralympics.

Rescsik competed in three events in Paris: first he finished seventh in the 10m air rifle, then He placed 30th in the 10m prone and finally finished fifth in the 50m tri-position.

– I prepared to give the best possible performance, and I had thoughts about reaching the final. The fact that it worked out in two numbers is a plus, and it is especially pleasing that it came together in the third. Both have their own difficulties, but I am obviously happier with the fifth place than the seventh. I will go home satisfied, I was able to shoot according to the goal, but even after that I feel that of course there is always room for improvement – Csaba Reszczyk told our newspaper.

Zzombo's competitor will not leave for home until September 6, so he will have time to rest. While Paris is quite far from Châteauroux, the shooting venue, according to coach Csaba Jaco, the Olympic shooting range is very convenient and meets all needs. Professionally, the small city was an ideal choice, as it was possible to concentrate on the competition as much as possible.
