According to the developers, with the move to the Unity engine, FM25 offers the biggest technical and visual evolution of the series and is the first game in the long-running series to include women's football.

At the same time, unfortunately, many functions are removed, such as field side shouts, club creation, showdown mode, challenge mode, or even Fantasy Draft. Some of these elements can be expected in the 2026 or 27 game, others will be dropped entirely, but Fantasy Draft, for example, will be included in FM 25 with a later update.
