Android users are now getting a new set of anti-theft features that Google announced in May. The purpose of these functions is to make it difficult for thieves to access data stored on the device.
Mishal Rahman Reddit reported that these features are now available in the latest update, after noting that the Xiaomi 14T Pro phone has “theft detection lock” and “offline device lock” features. Other users said they only see the third feature, which is “remote locking.”

New features Most interesting Theft Detection Lock, which uses artificial intelligence to lock the screen if the phone detects movements typical of theft, such as someone suddenly pulling it out of your hand. Offline Lock locks the device if it is offline for an extended period of time, while Remote Lock allows users to lock the device using their phone number if they can't access Find My Device with a password.
These functions are available on any device running Android 10 or higher, but Android 5 is sufficient for the “Remote Lock” function. If you don't see these features on your phone yet, you may want to update your Google Play Services, though Google tends to roll out new features gradually, so you may have to wait a while.
