Eggs can be considered an ideal food in themselves, as they are rich in proteins and vitamins. Thanks to the amino acid composition, the biological value of the protein contained in the egg is excellent. In addition, however, some valuable nutrients can be increased in a natural way, through targeted nutrition, so that we can produce foods that are functional, that is, protective for health, and maintain health – he emphasizes. Dr. Veronica Halas, University Professor at MATE: “With regard to the fatty acid composition of eggs, it is very favorable, and can be further improved if we increase the proportion of polyunsaturated fatty acids ingested with the feed. These include the so-called essential fatty acids, especially omega-3.” Fatty acids, which have a favorable physiological effect and reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases, have anti-inflammatory properties and help with brain function, especially in the intellectual development of young children. We can also increase the amount of fat-soluble vitamins A, E and D in eggs. Lutein content in eggs, which plays a role in visual processes.

Experts also point out that the egg reaches the consumer in the form of a shell, thus receiving the ideal and environmentally friendly “packaging”. Eggshells consist of substances that play a very important role in the body from a physiological standpoint, so do not throw them away, but after proper cleaning they can be used in several ways in the garden and in the kitchen.
