A new adaptation of Jane Austen's novel is still being developed.
After seeing the success of The Bridgerton Family, it's no surprise that Netflix wanted something similar. Pride and Prejudice may be suitable material, and this wouldn't be the first Jane Austen-based adaptation by the streaming service provider's creative department, with Persuasive Arguments starring Dakota Johnson due in 2022.
Dolly Alderton has been asked to write the series, but it has not yet been announced who has been cast in the main roles, or who will take on additional duties. At the moment, they are starting to develop it, and then it will be decided whether it will get the green light at all.
Pride and Prejudice has been adapted several times, and most of you are probably familiar with the Colin Firth mini-series or the 2005 Keira Knightley film. Meanwhile, the BBC is working on a spin-off series centered around Elizabeth Bennet's sister, Mary.
